Rajit Kapur (Hindi: रजित कपूर, Punjabi: ਰਜੀਤ ਕਪੂਰ) is an Indian film actor. He is particularly known for his award-winning portrayal ofMahatma Gandhi in the 1996 film, The Making of the Mahatma. One of his most popular stints is his portrayal of Byomkesh Bakshi in the television series Byomkesh Bakshi based on the character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay and directed by Basu Chatterjee. He is also known for his acting in the Malayalam film Agni Sakshi.
