Deepak Dobriyal (Hindi: दीपक डोबरियाल) is an Indian film and theatre actor.[1][2] He worked in many films like Sooper Se Ooper, Chor Chor Super Chor, Dabangg 2, Not a Love Story, Teen Thay Bhai, Gulaal, Delhi 6, Omkara, Maqbool, Daayen Ya Baayen, Shaurya,1971,[3] 13B, The Blue Umbrella, Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Mumbai Cutting.[4]

Early life and education[edit]
Deepak's parents belong to Kabra village near Rithakhal and Satpuli village, Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand state, who moved to Delhi when he was five.[5] In Delhi he lives in Katwariya Saray and completed his schooling from Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School Begumpur.
Theatre career[edit]
He started his acting career in 1994 with eminent Theatre director Arvind Gaur.[5] His major plays with Gaur are Tughlaq, Andha Yug ,Final Solutions, "Desire Under the Elms",Rakt Kalyan,"Court Martial", "Dario Fo's Operation Three Star, "The Caucasian Chalk Circle","The Good Person of Szechwan" ,"Neil Simon's The Good Doctor", "Ashok Lal's Ek Mamooli Aadmi",[6] After six years with Asmita theatre he joined Act One with director Pt. N. K. Sharma.[5] He acted in Aao Saathi Sapna Dekhen, Hamaar Baabuji ki chhattri andAksar Maine Socha Hai.

He also received recognition for his role of Pappi in Tanu Weds Manu (2011), a role he reprised in 2015 sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns again received critical acclaimed.[7]
